Hook: Tiemco TMC 800S #2, or Gamakatsu equivalent. Thread: Clear or Smoke Mono “G” size Gudebrod Thread Eyes: Large Black Dome. Tail: Silver Gliss 'n Glow
Body: Polar Fibre. Black top and Orange Body. Gather the polar fibre into a flat clump and apply with 1 or 2 wraps of thread. Treat the shank with a light coat of super glue or Zap first. Wrap the orange then 2 folded strands of silver Gliss 'n Glow, then a small amount of super glue and apply the black with one or 2 thread wraps. Don't over due the thread wraps since this entire build will be epoxied.
Throat: Orange Gliss 'n Glow wrapped around the shank so it is exposed on the bottom of the shank and extends out past the bend. Tie this prior to applying the polar fibre. Head: Black thread wrap with non-yellowing Devcon 5 minute epoxy. Use a #6 finish nail point to edge the epoxy just past the eye and around the top and bottom.
Notes: Fish this fly with fluorocarbon leader or clear sink tip or intermediate line. The fly will track, as shown, just below the surface. The strip action is a slow retrieve. This fly has taken stripers, speckled trout, redfish, spanish mackerel, and flounder (oh, and one large blue crab). Polar Fibre hair is translucent meaning that there is plenty of flash built into the fibres, so don't over do the silver flash.
